Built 4,600 Years Ago: Egypt’s Curved Pyramid Opened For The First Time In More Than 50 Years

From July 13th, the Egyptian Pyramid and its surrounding pyramids are open to visitors. The curved pyramid is one of the oldest pyramids. It has been open for the first time since 1965, and Egypt hopes to boost tourism.


According to reports, Egyptian Antiquities Minister Khaled el-Anany said that on the 13th, the curved pyramid in the Dahshur cemetery in the ancient capital of Memphis and its 18-meter-high “side pyramid” .


Anani said that the pyramid represents the architectural period of the transition between the Zusser Pyramid and the Medum Pyramid.The ancient capital of Memphis and its cemetery are listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO.


The curved pyramid was built around 2600 BC, farther than the famous Khufu Pyramid. It is located in the Dheshuur area about 35 kilometers south of Cairo, the capital of Egypt. It was built for the first Pharaoh Savro of the fourth dynasty of ancient Egypt and is about 98 meters high.Due to the excessive dip angle at the beginning of the construction, the curved pyramid was built to a lower angle and then continued to be constructed. After completion, the four sides showed a curved shape.
