Leeds Are Back In The Premier League After A Gap Of 16 Years

Leeds united are back in the Premier League after 16 years as second-placed West Bromwich Albion failed to take all three points on Sunday.

On July 17, West Bromwich Albion lost 2-1 to Huddersfield, five points behind Leeds with a game on the line, and were certainly unable to overtake them. Only Third-placed Brentford have a realistic chance of overtaking Leeds, who have secured a spot in the top two.

A storied football club, Leeds won the English Top flight three times, the last time in 1991-92 and reached the last four of the Champions League in 2000-2001. In 2004 Leeds united were relegated from the Premier League. Leeds finished third in the Championship last season, failing to qualify for the Premier League after failing to reach the play-offs.
